According to Cooltourspain’s CEO, the most interesting part about leading street art events in Madrid is that it doesn’t seem that a team of professionals would be working at all. Based on his words, teaching adults on how to use spray cans is closely related to a hobbie, rather than a job itself.
Every year, an approximate amount of 4033 participants brought to Spain by MICE and DMC Spanish and international event agencies, practice their skills over tote bags, canvas or walls. Let’s ask this street art entrepreneur the most frequently repeated questions:
How many variations do your street art events in Madrid offer?
To start with, my readers should note that I started 8 years ago as a very small cultural, educational, social and touristic project. Despite that fact, I made Cooltourspain grow, and I now do not only offer street art events in Madrid, but also in Barcelona, Valencia, Malaga and Bilbao.
Next destinations in my bucket list of alternative things to do in Spain are Palma de Mallorca and Sevilla. In this sense, there are multiple choices that I offer to my guests and through the following paragraphs I’ll try explain them all.
Keep on reading because I’ll offer you insider information about how do I organize them and what are different tasks that guests develop while participating at different workstations set.
Why do your customers like receiving a tote bag as a present?
The truth is that the majority of people who join my street art events in Madrid have never used before a spray can in their lifes, with a creative process. They may have used them to paint a wardrobe or any other furniture piece, but when painting over a tote bag, they feel relaxed and their creativity comes alive.
If you mix the illustrative part, with the fact that they will take home a 100% cotton tote bag decorated by themselves, agencies and final clients will get an out of the box and artsy experience.
The sustainable part of the event is supported by a clothing element that they may reuse afterwards in their daily lives. That’s to say:
- Taking sport clothing on it to the gym
- Using it while doing the shopping list.
- Wearing it as a fashion component.
What’s the importance about counting with a simple design on the street art events in Madrid and not a hyperrealistic sketch?
Business managers or Human Resources representatives in charge of hiring street art events in Madrid usually think that the more impressive the artwork, the better. However according to my previous experience that may lead into participants’ stress. Why? It’s simple. Don’t pretend that a person who doesn’t count with the right painting skills, elaborates a realistic design.
That’s the reason why my team of graphic designers will produce a sketch, that counts with a plane color palette, words representing your brand’s image, as well as the logo/slogan developed with a huge stencil.
Overall, the “mural” installed on the suggested venue will represent your core values, and will allow participants to engage in a teamwork as they may not have achieved before. So interesting!
Do you offer other possibilities?
The other street art events in Madrid that I have organized for brands such as TikTok, Netflix, Google, Sanitas or Pepsi have included tailored decorations for their employees. For example, there was once when we painted skateboards that were handed to participants. Moreover, they were free hand painted with the ideas that each person offered us.
Another time, we shipped the canvas that my team painted. It was delivered to the UK within 6 days, and as far as I am concerned, the canvas is now hung at the beer brand companies HQ.
For your information, I could design on any other surface. What about developing a workshop where guests decorate their brand new sneakers, a t-shirt or a cap? When offering alternative birthday parties, kids and teenagers of different ages love wearing the clothing elements that they have painted.
Who are the workshop leaders behind the street art events in Madrid?
It was 8 years ago when I started offering street art events in Madrid. At the beginning, it was just a hobbie and I organized them from time to time. I mostly hosted these experiences for travelers who were looking for exclusive activities.
At the moment, Cooltourspain counts with a team of professional graffiti writers and street art artists who do not only paint at art jams orfestivals, but who also curate unique painting sessions. Participants’ ages may vary from 10 years old to 55 yo. seniors. Everyone is welcomed!
For your information, all these professionals speak Spanish and a second foreign language. In that sense they’re able to lead experiences in English, French, German, Dutch or Italian.
Graffiti writers, street art artists and illustrators
As a member of the graffiti community in town, I’ve managed to create partnerships with different members of the local and national art scene. Moreover, these entrepreneur opportunities led towards a strong friendship with some of them. That’s probably the thing that I enjoy the most about organizing street art events in Madrid.
Guests should also take into consideration that I collaborate with artists who either studied fine arts at university, or people who have painted walls, faccades and metal shutters through the years in a creative way. Consequently, I can assure that participants will receive instruction from the best team ever.
In this sense, while I’m in charge of leading the whole project and its booking process, they’ll be the ones who will work “hand-in-hand” with participants to teach them how to paint. You’ll be impressed by the final outcome.
How much do you usually charge for the street art events in Madrid?
The budget I offer for the street art events in Madrid will vary according to the teambuilding event’s requirements. In order to obtain an estimate, quoting will require answers for the following questions:
- Will you require us renting a venue for the experience or do you count with one already?
- What’s the approximate number of participants that will attend the activity? Please note that there exists a street art workshop fee of 15€/person.
- Is your creative team in charge of the design that we will use on the wall? Alternatively, you may count with our expertise on the field.
- Is the event coordinated through an event’s agency? You should lake into consideration that they’d be in charge of the waste removal.
- Do you require a catering service provider or offering tailored presents for the attendees?
Once I receive all the required information, I’ll send you by email the total price for the event. Please be aware that I will block the date and time in our calendars, once the first 50% non refundable payment is processed. I’ll send you the next invoice/s on the activities’ previous weeks. You may contact us via email (info@cooltourspain.com) or via whatsapp (+34638399784).
What do your customers think after the workshop?
Both guests and the managers’ team usually enjoy the street art events in Madrid. From my point of view, what they like the most is the final result.
They’re always impressed by what’s painted. I can confirm that because they do not have experience with spray painting. The result they see afterwards is impressive. In this sense, part of the job corresponds to checking what’s the agencies’ and the final customer opinion.
To me, user experience is one of the most valuable things to take into consideration while working with a public/private audience. That’s the reason why after each event, I ask the following questions via email/face to face to the ones who hire my services.
- What’s the thing you liked the most about the workshop?
- What would you highlight about all the hiring process involved?
- In order to improve the service, what would you have changed?
- Are you happy on all terms? What about the professionals’ job? Did you like the service that they provided?
You should take into consideration that I lead a humble project called Cooltourspain. Their is always room for improvement. Don’t you think so? I do not expect to receive a grade of 10/10.
Last but not least, what’s my opinion about the street art events in Madrid?
As mentioned earlier, I’ve been managing Cooltourspain since 2015. It’s been a pleasure organizing street art events in Madrid for brands such as Google, Netflix, Pepsi, Lindt, Ayden, Orquest, and several other international known brands.
I still enjoy it as the first day. For your information I am home based in Blanes (Girona), from where I lead the project in other Spanish cities such as Barcelona, Malaga, Valencia, Palma de Mallorca and Sevilla.
