La Neomudejar, featured in Cooltourspain’s street art tour in Madrid.
I would like to say that the ‘auxiliares de conversación’ program broadened my interest of travelling all around Spain. Granada, Salamanca and Barcelona were some of the cities I visited during my experience as a teacher in Madrid. I will talk to you today about one of the best places you could visit if you are hosting a friend from your home country. La Neomudejar is one of those places very few people know about in Madrid, which will really shock you when you arrive.
Six fascinating facts about La Neomudejar
From the very first moment you step inside La Neomudejar, you will feel an intense explosion of curiosity inside of you. We have prepared a brief insider guide of Madrid’s modern art museum. Cooltourspain would compare the avant garde center of Madrid to a small portion of MOMA New York.
Atocha Renfe,
-Its foundation.-
La Neomudejar is located within 5 minutes walking distance from the most important train station in Spain, Atocha. It was once Renfe’s main warehouse, and its workers christened the name in 1885. We also refer to it as ‘La Neo’.
Visual arts,
-The current exhibition.-
Domingo Sarrey is probably the most important Spanish visual artist of all times. The newest exhibition called ‘Crosses and convergences’ will cover the history of visual arts in Spain from 1940 until present day. Check it out here!
Performances,
-Experimental art.-
La Neomudejar changes its exhibitions every two months, giving the opportunity to up and coming artists to exhibit their work. If you visit La Neo either on Wednesday or Friday morning you might be able to see a live performance by the artists.
