Urban art has gained popularity for several years. However, you might not realize that numerous graffiti artists in Madrid, Barcelona, and other Spanish cities now financially benefit from it—thanks to the increasing interest from many who view it as a creative and alternative adventure. As a matter of fact, the graffiti teambuilding has become one of the most booked team activities, appealing to both locals and international clients.
There’s a well-planned framework behind the act of spray painting. It involves more than just picking up a can and beginning—planning and design a wall. In this article, we’ll guide you on how we facilitate these sessions, what they encompass, and how you can participate. Still curious? What are the workstations set in a graffiti teambuilding activity?
Since we launched our graffiti teambuilding initiative in 2016, we’ve led numerous experiences. Through trial and error, we’ve developed a unique and successful format. We’ve also partnered with various venues that have allowed us to grow into one of Madrid’s leading providers of large-scale graffiti events and team experiences. Among them, Espacio Oculto, Espacio Rastro Madrid, or Ecooo.
Each artistic workshop consists of three main workstations, directing participants through the entire mural creation using stencils and a collaborative canvas. We also provide a segment on safety measures and offer a theoretical overview of contemporary art and street art / graffiti culture. Interested in more? You can schedule a free inspection visit for the street art tour around Lavapiés, either before or after the session.
We combine technique with style, ensuring that each participant leaves with a unique piece, while the group mural transforms into a lasting reminder on your office wall. Every member of the team will actively engage—with spray cans, stencils, or masking tape at the ready. Indeed, we’ve witnessed the excitement on faces when someone picks up a spray can for the very first time!
Workshop on wall or custom surface

As illustrated in the picture, our graffiti teambuilding workshops can occur in any city across Spain. In this instance, we headed to a terrace at Espai Padel in Blanes (Girona), where Javier facilitated a session for 15 participants. This company opted out of including any branding in their mural—and we’ve observed that the less corporate the artwork, the greater the enjoyment for employees during the process.
We set a 4.5 x 1.5 meter canvas with grommets to fasten it to the wall. Participants first explored their creativity freely, then contributed to the structured design—beginning with tags and bubble lettering, and culminating with historic monuments and cultural symbols from around the globe.
From the very first moment, everyone was involved. Each individual shared their creative ideas to enhance the mural. It’s a fantastic opportunity to connect with colleagues in a relaxed, artistic environment. At some venues, we set up a larger truss if the space lacks the technical specifications we require.
Do participants receive a gift at the end of the graffiti teambuilding workshop?

Absolutely! At the end of every graffiti teambuilding activity, participants receive a small gift. We want your agency to book us again—and one of the most effective ways to achieve this is by creating a positive impression on your clients. Satisfied customers have fueled our growth through word-of-mouth referrals for almost a decade.
Our commitment to sustainability is also a priority for us. That’s why we provide 100% cotton tote bags for you to decorate during the session. These bags can be used at the beach, grocery store, or anywhere you prefer. Just a quick tip: avoid washing the bag in a washing machine. Instead, clean it softly with cold water and mild soap.
Some of the stencil designs that are particularly popular include:
- Iconic Spanish cultural figures—both male and female
- Slogans like “Graffiti Saved My Life” or “I Love Street Art”
- Stencils customized to your brand
Introductory talk with a graffiti artist: The life and work of a street artist

We start every graffiti teambuilding experience with an in-depth exploration of the graffiti scene. Your guide—an experienced graffiti artist—shares personal anecdotes and insider insights. Were you aware that the graffiti scene operates with its own set of unwritten rules and codes? Many people are intrigued to learn about this.
The lead artist will demonstrate how to attach spray caps, create lines, and even use a cutter correctly. You’ll discover the importance of moving your arm, rather than just your wrist, to achieve the desired flow. Surprisingly, mastering spray can techniques requires a significant amount of practice.
This introduction concludes with a live demonstration that all participants will follow. Sometimes individuals may overlook the explanation and use the spray incorrectly, not due to a lack of clarity in our instructions—but because their attention may drift. But that’s part of the learning experience: you first have to listen.

What is the cost of a graffiti teambuilding experience?

To determine the exact price of your graffiti teambuilding experience, we need to find out if you will require us to arrange a venue. Regardless, we start with a basic price, to which you can add additional options.
We supply spray paint, tape, stencils, and all necessary art supplies—you only need to bring clothes that can get paint on them. However, disposable protective units are provided. For instance, overalls, gloves, shoe covering and masks. Price ranges between 35€ and 65€ per participant.
Later, you’d have to add 21% VAT and income tax, known as IRPF in Spain. If you would like us to design the artwork, it incurs an extra charge. Each artist can accommodate up to 12–15 participants, so for larger groups, additional facilitators are required—each costing €250.
No experience or age restrictions necessary

Smaller groups are simpler to manage, but we don’t impose a maximum size limit. The only stipulation is maintaining the appropriate ratio of artists to participants. For larger audiences, we avoid using microphones, preferring to cultivate a more intimate and personalized graffiti teambuilding environment. For events with over 100 participants, we will bring enough artists to ensure that everyone can paint simultaneously.
The canvas’ height is typically 2 meters, and the length can be adjusted as needed. Do you have a space at your office or warehouse that you would like to transform? No design experience is necessary to take part. With our team of skilled graffiti artists, you will collaborate to create a mural tailored to your space.
Regarding age? There is no upper or lower age limit to get involved. Most of our clients are aged between 22 and 55 years. Event agency professionals frequently book this experience, while final clients often contact us directly. Our pricing is clear and excludes agency commissions.
Cooltourspain’s final insights on graffiti teambuilding
This is the part we love the most—sharing what drives us. We believe graffiti teambuilding is a fantastic gateway into street art. Still, we recognize that it doesn’t fully capture the raw, unscripted energy of true graffiti culture. So where else would you dare to paint?
Finally, we want to use this space to call on the Madrid City Council and other local governments: every neighborhood should have legal walls where people can paint without fear of police harassment. Creative expression shouldn’t feel like a crime.
